Experience William the Conqueror’s triumphal return to Lincoln Castle after he commissioned its building in 1068.

Lincoln Castle was begun under instruction from William the Conqueror, who after his victory at Hastings on 1066, soon set about imposing his rule across the Country. In 1068 the first castle was established and it wasn’t long before King William visited Lincoln himself. Lincoln Castle and Lincoln Cathedral are both monuments to William’s rule.

This weekend King William makes a triumphal return along with his Court and baggage trayne. With a full supporting cast of soldiers, civilians, musicians and a jester to entertain the king with pastimes and merriment but also display of military skills.

Inclusive Ticket includes admission to the Medieval Wall Walk, Victorian Prison and David P J Ross Magna Carta Vault. It also allows one free return visit within 6 months:
