SUMMARY:Living With PTSD and Depression
DESCRIPTION:Captain Krankypants\, as his alter ego Trace Dann (www.tracedann.com) is taking his highly popular Blog on the road  – well not the Blog itself\, but the subject of the Blog – “Living with PTSD and Depressive Disorder”. \nDelivered as a keynote address\, the events are more than just a talk – they are 90-minute entertainment events based around a serious subject. They are designed for anyone dealing with the disorders themselves and for families and friends of people with the disorders – to help them all understand what is going on inside the heads of their loved one. \nTrace is not a mental heath professional\, nor does he have any medical qualifications\, he is a guy who has forged a successful life despite living with the disorders gained during war service for the Australian Army. He talks about how he was like a swan floating majestically down a river while underneath the surface he was paddling like crazy against the tide of self-doubt\, numbed emotions\, hyper-alertness\, guilt\, frustration and many other negative thought. \n\nThe £10 event tickets (including welcome drink) can be purchased at Carriages directly or online here\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nBest wishes

SUMMARY:One of Britain’s Best Kept Secrets of WW2
DESCRIPTION:  \nThe museum looks at the extraction of oil from both the Nottinghamshire countryside and oil rigs at sea. There are artefacts from the industry and the individuals involved in that industry. \n\nOne of World War Two’s best kept secret was the stationing of US oilmen from Oklahoma and Texas with the monks\, then living at Kelham Hall. They were there to extract oil from wells underneath the Nottinghamshire countryside\, with ‘nodding donkey’s’ installed at Duke’s Wood at Eakring and in other places. What made the story even stranger was that they were billeted at Kelham Hall\, then home to the monks of the Society of the Sacred Mission. The museum tells their story\, but also the wider story of oil production around the UK\, through the experiences of the curator Kevin Topham. \nOpening Times\nThursday 6 September: 1300 – 1700\nFriday 7 September: 1300 – 1700\nSaturday 8 September: 1300 – 1700\nSunday 9 September: 1300 – 1700\nThursday 13 September: 1300 – 1700\nFriday 14 September: 1300 – 1700\nSaturday 15 September: 1300 – 1700\nSunday 16 September: 1300 – 1700 \nBooking Details\nNo booking required \nAdditional Information\nParking charges may apply for parking at Kelham Hall Contact for the day: Viv Claxton 07787 514096\nwww.dukeswoodoilmuseum.com/
