SUMMARY:Newark Half Marathon & Fun Run (Newark)
DESCRIPTION:The Eden Hall Spa Newark Half Marathon is a flat\, fast and scenic summer race.  It is limited to 1\,500 entrants with a fun run and entertainment for all the family in support of our charity partner Beaumond House.  \n The setting is historic Newark with its castle and civil war museum.  The race starts in the Sconce Park\, site of civil war battles\, passes the Ice Age Journey dig\, where our ancestors settled over 13\,000 years ago\, skirts East Stoke\, site of the bloodiest civil battle through Elston\, birth place of the Darwin family and where our main sponsor Eden Hall is situated\, then back to the Sconce Park. \n The route is flat and fast and mainly on closed roads. Start time 10am. \n\n\nThe Fun Run \n\n\nThis run is for all the family\, young and old. Only £5 (plus registration fee) to enter and you can raise money for charity if you wish. Registration opens March 2017. Beaumond House is supporting this run and all proceeds will go to them. All finishers will receive a medal. \nThe run is a ‘Run England’ accredited race route of 2 kilometres around the periphery of Sconce and Devon Park. It is strictly limited to 150 runners\, with marshals and spectators supporting all the way. It will be run under the same regulations as ‘parkrun’ but is only 2k long. \nThe Fun Run will start at 10:30. For entry purposes children should be added to an adult’s profile so that covers the provision of parental consent and on the day any child under 11 must be accompanied on the run by an adult. Please note that the Fun Run is not timed.
